# Lichfield man jailed after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a child

A Lichfield man has been jailed after admitting sexually assaulting a child. 

Detectives began an investigation into Paul Norman Sankey after an incident involving a 10-year-old girl in Penkridge in June 2018.

The 65-year-old pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years and ten months in prison at Stafford Crown Court.

A Sexual Harm Prevention Order has been imposed on Sankey for ten years. He will also be required to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.   
  
Detective Constable Laura Turner said:

> “This was a disturbing incident and Sankey’s actions were terrifying for the young victim.
