# Lichfield mum’s marathon effort raises £500 for charity

Alice Walsh

A Lichfield mum has raised more than £500 for charity after completing the Manchester Marathon.

Alice Walsh took on the challenge after reading about [the fundraising efforts](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2014/03/31/mum-teams-up-with-lichfield-student-to-raise-money-for-cancer-charity/) of Nether Stowe student Chelsey Dixon.

The pair teamed up to collect money for the [Teenage Cancer Trust](http://www.teenagecancertrust.org/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) after Chelsey’s own battle with Sarcoma – a type of muscle cancer.

And Alice’s time of four hours and 21 minutes has helped hit the £500 mark.
