A pub in Lichfield is among the first in the country to roll out new high jackpot gaming machines.

[The Scales Inn](http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=The+Scales+Lichfield&fb=1&split=1&gl=uk&view=text&latlng=2034751650947844931&ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk), on Market Street, has introduced the new £70 top prize machines after a change in the law allowed them to be used.

According to a [report in The Publican](http://www.thepublican.com/story.asp?sectioncode=7&storycode=64178&c=1&ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk), the changes to the machines – which will see players able to pay a £1 stake to try and win the increased jackpot – came about as part of an electronic download.
