Dave Bassett

Dave Bassett has hailed Lichfield RUFC’s confidence-boosting [win against Ludlow](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2009/11/30/lichfield-rufc-53-ludlow-rufc-16/) as their best performance of the season.

The skipper saw his side control the action throughout as they brushed aside what, on paper, was a tough Ludlow outfit.

But depsite his delight at his side’s efforts, Bassett is desperate to keep up the good work.

The Lichfield captain said:

> “This was by far our best performance of the season and we maintained our dominance for almost the full 80 minutes. Backs and forwards combined well and there was a real sense of cohesion to our game.

> “But will need to maintain this form as they still have two tough league games to play before Christmas against third placed Dixonians and a rapidly improving Shrewsbury side but the omens are good for the young Lichfield squad.
