# Lichfield school plays host to local sculptor’s work

A city school will be showcasing a piece of artwork after being loaned the piece by a Lichfield sculptor.

Peter Walker has loaned one of his pieces [Nether Stowe School](http://www.joomla.netherstowe.com/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) as part of the [52 Weeks of Art](http://www.52weeksofart.com/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) project.

The school’s headteacher Ruth Poppleton said:

> “It is a wonderful opportunity for the school to host such an amazing piece of work. The students will be able to appreciate the beauty of the work in its environment and will gain inspiration from it.

> “It is particularly pleasing that the work has been designed and made by a local man, and we feel very honoured and privileged to have it on our site.”

The [52 Weeks of Art](http://www.52weeksofart.com/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) project is designed to improve free access to visual arts for the local community.

Peter, who is a member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors, described his Bull in Dynamic Form piece as “an exploration of movement in nature, balanced on its foreleg with its hind quarter raised as though kicking out”.
