As well as seeing their logo on the club’s new sports kit, Tempest Ford Lichfield will also be offering prizes and incentives to members, including contributing £100 each time someone connected with the club buys a car.

The company will offer prizes for a Figure of 8 challenge being held at King Edward VI Leisure Centre on September 15.

The event will see players try to hit the ball into the front two corners of the court as many times as they can without it hitting the floor.

James Roberts, Chairman of Lichfield Squash Club, said: “We are so pleased to
have secured the support of a business like Tempest who are so well known
for supporting local business and good causes.

“Squash has been demonstrated to be the ‘world’s healthiest sport’ and is on the cusp of a resurgence in popularity due to an exciting professional World Tour which is now also televised via BT Sport.

“In addition, there is also the possibility of the sport being accepted into the Olympic programme for the Tokyo 2020 games, which would prove to be a huge boost.”

Tempest Ford will also be working with the club to help promote World Squash Day on October 10.

Last year, members played seven matches in seven hours at seven different clubs – and talks are already taking place to expand the challenge for this year’s event.

Brian Carruthers, managing director of Tempest Ford, said: “As a family-run business with family values, we are always keen to support our local community in any way we can and are delighted to be involved with Lichfield Squash Club to encourage more people to take up the game and get fitter and more active.

“This partnership represents an excellent fit for our business.”
