A STORY of life as a prisoner of war will be told at an event in Lichfield.

Vanessa Morgan will giver her talk – My Father, POW – at Erasmus Darwin House on 23rd April.

She said:

> “My father, Francis Hill, joined the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in September 1939 and was with the British Expeditionary Force in France until May 1940.

> “They were told to make for Dunkirk, but on his way he and a group of friends were captured.

> “This talk tell the story in the words of my father – but not any heroic escapes, just the life of an ordinary soldier.”
