# Lichfield woman to take on 900-mile charity challenge

A LOCAL woman is taking part in a 900-mile challenge to raise funds for a cancer charity.

Anna Powell will be running, cycling and swimming to cover the route between Edinburgh and London in July.

The Lichfield-based cancer rehabilitation specialist will be using the ten-day challenge to raise money and mark the 10th anniversary of MOVE Against Cancer.

She said:

> “Along the way, I will be connecting teenage and young adult cancer treatment centres across the UK, with the aim of raising both funds and national awareness for the charity.

> “As a cancer rehabilitation specialist, I’ve seen first-hand the difference that truly personalised support, community and safe movement can make.

> “Watching young people fight to regain their strength, identity and independence at such a pivotal point in their lives after cancer has really changed me – and this project is my way of honouring them in a small way.

> “MOVE’s programmes are free, accessible nationwide and are lifelines for the young people who use them. Demand is huge, which shows the value in what we do and we need help to be able to support all the young people that need it.

> “This challenge is going to be tough. Long days, early mornings, tired legs, and long hours in the saddle – but every mile will be worth it if it helps more young people access the support they deserve.”
