# Local group on the lookout for volunteers to support RNLI fundraising activities

A LOCAL organisation is on the lookout for volunteers to help support its fundraising efforts over the coming year.

The Tamworth and Lichfield RNLI branch raised more than £8,100 last year – and hopes to do even better in 2025.

The money came from events including concerts and street collections.

A spokesperson said:

> “The branch had lots to celebrate in 2024, not least the achievement of raising so much, but none of it would have been possible without our lovely, ever-willing volunteers, and the generosity of the residents of Lichfield, Tamworth and surrounding areas who we extend heartfelt thanks to for their unstinting support.

> “Our volunteer numbers are relatively low so we will struggle to cover some events. It would be so lovely to match this year’s fundraising high with the same – or better – in 2025\.

> “We only ask for an hour or two of your time and you will always have the support of a long term member by your side. You can shake a bucket at one of our supermarket collections, help man our stall at various events in the local area or just come up with fundraising ideas.

> “If you’re a confident speaker you may consider training to be a presenter, giving talks to local organisations about the Lifeboat service or becoming a water safety trainer helping educate youngsters how to be safe around water.

> “You don’t have to be a member of our branch but it certainly helps and the annual subscription is only £7 a year. If you prefer to stay in the background there may be opportunities for you to help on the administration side too.”
