Work to help students with autism at a Lichfield school has been aided by a £500 donation.

The money came from M6 Toll operators Midland Expressway Ltd to help provide new equipment at Nether Stowe School.

The Autism Resource Base at the school provides additional support for students aged between 11 and 16.

Mike Burke, resource teacher at Nether Stowe School, said: “The generous donation
from the M6 Toll will provide a welcome boost to the students accessing the resource.

“Being able to offer our students a calming and relaxing environment is essential and this generosity has enabled us to enhance our unit to meet their needs.”

The decision to support the project was made by Midland Expressway Ltd’s social committee.

Paul Parry, systems maintenance manager at the company, said: “This donation means a great deal
to me as my daughter was supported by staff from the resource base at Nether Stowe
School.

“I was delighted to hear that our social committee had chosen to support the school
following my recommendation.”
