# Man charged with nine offences after Lichfield crash

A Lichfield man has been charged with nine offences after being involved in a crash in Lichfield.

James John Weir, from Lichfield, was involved in the incident shortly after 8am on October 10.

The 31-year-old was arrested on Monday and remanded in police custody. He is due to appear before magistrates in Burton this morning (October 12).

Weir has been charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, possessing a knife/sharp pointed article in a public place, driving while over the alcohol limit, assault, criminal damage, aggravated vehicle taking, affray and driving without insurance.

No-one was seriously injured in the incident which led to a section of the A51, near the Bowling Green Island, being closed for three hours on Monday.
