# Man from Leeds admits burgling homes across Lichfield

A Leeds man has admitted being involved in a spate of burglaries across Lichfield.

Dean Pegg, 45, appeared before Burton Magistrates today (September 21), where he admitted one charge of attempted burglary at a home in Wheel Lane, Lichfield, and one charge of burglary at home in St Mary’s Road.

An additional eight burglary offences in the Lichfield area were taken into consideration and he was remanded in custody to be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.

These incidents were part of series of burglaries where garden tools were used to gain entry to homes in the north of the city between June and August.

Insp Darren Oakey, Lichfield District Local Policing Team (LPT) Commander, said: “This pleasing result is attributable to the detailed and thorough inquiry carried out by the investigating officer and it clearly demonstrates the force’s determination to tackle those involved in burglary.”
