A Mark Rose hat-trick earned Lichfield City FC a point after a rollercoaster encounter at Pelsall Villa.

Boss Gary Birch handed a debut to midfielder Adam Wood as the Brownsfield Park side made the short trip to Pelsall.

His side had the better of the opening exchanges before Rose opened the scoring.

But Pelsall turned the game on its head with two goals to take the lead into the break.

Ryan Baker and Jordan Hunt both went close as City spurned a number of chances before Rose finally found the leveller.

And the prolific striker made it three with a hat-trick before a late leveller saw both sides take a share of the points, but not before Rose saw another effort well saved by the keeper.

Lichfield face a tough home test on Boxing Day when they entertain league leaders Highgate United, kick-off 11.30am.
