Lichfield City FC ensured cup progression after a Josh Bambury goal gave them victory at Droitwich Spa.

The visitors started the brighter of the two sides and they created some good chances before eventually taking the lead.

Mark Rose worked hard down the left wing and found Bambury in the box. He turned well before calmly slotting the ball home.

This should have been the platform for Lichfield to go on and kill the game off, but they couldn’t finish off a number of good moves.

The second half turned into an anti-climax as both sides came close, but couldn’t find the back of the net as the weather played a big part with both teams beginning to wilt in the heat.
