# Match report: Lichfield City FC Reserves 3 Droitwich Spa Reserves 1

Lichfield City FC’s second string streched their unbeaten start to the season to five games after coming from behind at Brownsfield Park.

The hosts went a goal down in the first minute when hesitant defending allowed the visitors Morton Taylor to head home a corner from eight yards.

This seemed to drain all the confidence built over the precious four unbeaten games as Droitwich piled forward at will in the opening 15 minutes, City lucky to still be in the game with just a one goal deficit.

City gradually got a foot hold in the game and began to play the ball around and create some openings, Leon Morgan rattling the crossbar from 12 yards and Andy Parnaby also striking the woodwork as the hosts when into the break a goal down.

The second half saw Lichfield dominate and they were soon back on level terms, Josh Bambury bundling home from close range on the hour.

The hosts took the lead five minutes later when striker Chris Ashley on his first start of the season poked home after good work from Morgan.

The visitors rarely threatened as Lichfield looked to kill the game off, a fine individual goal from Bambury sealing the points for the hosts and in the process sending City to fourth in the table and maintaining their status as one of only two unbeaten teams in the league.

Lichfield’s second string travel to Coton Green Reserves this Saturday (September 24) k.o 3pm
