Harry Harris

**EXCLUSIVE:** The man who missed the crucial penalty in Chasetown FC’s FA Cup defeat has insisted he would volunteer to take one again if the opportunity arose.

Harry Harris failed to convert his spot kick as the Scholars [lost out 5-4 on penalties](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2009/09/01/afc-wulfrunians-2-chasetown-fc-2-chasetown-lose-5-4-on-penalties/) to AFC Wulfrunians in the Preliminary Round replay with the scores level at 2-2 after extra time.

But the former Walsall man has insisted missing the spot kick doesn’t make the disappointment of going out any worse.

He told The Lichfield Blog:

> “I’m just disappointed we lost like the other lads. We’re all disappointed beacuse it’s the FA Cup and everyone wants to go as far as we can in the competition and the penalty doesn’t make it worse for me. I feel I struck the penalty really well and the keeper made a good save.
>
> “I always take penalties and rarely miss but last night won’t bother me at all in the future because I’ve seen the best players in the world miss them. I will always take penalties.”

And Harris also believes Chasetown should have killed off the tie long before the need for penaties.

The Scholars took the lead in the opening tie before being held to a [1-1 draw](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2009/08/29/chasetown-fc-1-afc-wulfrunians-1/) and missed a number of chances to win the game during the replay.

> “We should of seen off AFC Wulfrunians in the first game, but slack defending cost us and the same happened again in the replay. The luck was on their side over the two games.”
