AN MP says she is continuing to push for a resolution ahead of strikes by teachers at local schools.

Members of the National Education Union (NEU) are set to walk out for the first time on Wednesday (14th January) in [a row over planned redundancies](https://lichfieldlive.co.uk/teachers-set-to-strike-over-plans-for-redundancies-at-local-schools/) at the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership (ATLP).

The industrial action [could impact a number of local schools](https://lichfieldlive.co.uk/education-trust-says-local-school-closures-may-be-unavoidable-when-teachers-strike-over-redundancy-plans/), including Anna Seward Primary School, Scotch Orchard Primary School, St Chad’s Primary School, St Michael’s Primary School and Nether Stowe School.

Labour’s Sarah Edwards said she and other local MPs had met with trust bosses to discuss the possible impact of the walkouts.

> “The education, wellbeing and stability of children must always be the absolute priority, and it is deeply regrettable when disruption affects pupils and families.

> “I will continue to push for a resolution and to work constructively with colleagues and all parties involved to help bring this dispute to an end.

> “I am aware of the strength of feeling among staff and recognise the role of the NEU in representing its members. I will continue to support efforts to ensure that concerns raised by the NEU are addressed fairly and responsibly.”

- 27th January
- 28th January
- 29th January
