However, the company’s chief executive Jamie Buchan has written to MP Christopher Pincher to confirm that a new group will take over the home.

Mr Pincher explained:

> “I have been informed by Southern Cross that Haunton Hall is likely to be transferred to Four Seasons care home group. The transfer is likely to occur on September 30.
>
> “Southern Cross has assured me there will be minimum disruption to staff, residents and their families during this transitional stage and that they have a transition plan in place.”

Four Seasons is one of Britain’s leading independent healthcare providers with over 400 homes across the county and currently employ around 21,000 people.

Mr Pincher added:

> “I have written to every resident who has contacted me on this issue to keep them informed and up-to-date with this very fluid situation. Recently, when I visited Haunton Hall, staff and patients seemed confident of the future.
>
> “I wish the best possible future of Haunton Hall and if any of my constituents have any concerns on this issue they should not hesitate to contact me. I will continue to monitor the situation at Haunton Hall.”
