# MP visits Lichfield schoolchildren after they raised environmental issues with him

AN MP has thanked Lichfield schoolchildren for raising concerns with him about ocean pollution and the environment.

The youngsters from St Chad’s CE Primary School, on St Michael Road, got in touch with Dave Robertson after learning about the issues.

The Labour MP opted to deliver his response in person to the Year 3 class, as well as taking questions about environmental issues and life as a Member of Parliament.

He said:

> “I was delighted to receive these letters from the Year 3’s at St Chad’s – they were very well-written and showed how much the children care about the environment.

> “Meeting staff and pupils at the school gave me the chance to see the brilliant work that goes on at St Chad’s and take questions from the children. It was great to hear what they had to say about the environment and our local area.

> “I’d like to thank both the school for inviting me and everyone in Year 3 who wrote a letter.”

Year 3 teacher Helen Board said:

> “It was great to hear about all the things that the Government are doing to help the environment already – and about the new initiatives that are going to be happening.

> “We are very grateful for the letters that Dave wrote to us and for all the answers he gave to our questions.”
