Lichfield District Council is hosting a Victorian-themed fun event between 11am and 3pm on May 7.

The May Day celebrations will include maypole dancing, a craft ‘cup in a ball’ activity and a range of traditional games, including a coconut shy, croquet and hoopla.

There will also be a Punch and Judy show at 12.30pm.

Councillor Iain Eadie, Cabinet member for leisure at Lichfield District Council, said: “This event is a great way to celebrate our heritage and to find out how the Victorians had fun.

“Visiting Beacon Park on May Day, and getting involved in the traditional activities, will really make that period come alive.”
