# New book by Lichfield councillor explores Christian belief and practice

A LICHFIELD councillor has published a "radical" book on Christian belief and practice.

Cllr Jeyan Anketell's new work – Christianity Unchained – was published on 14th August.

The former science teacher at Chasetown High School is also a self-supporting priest at St Michael's Church.

A spokesperson said:

> "This book seeks to make sense of Christian belief and practice by stripping away the incorrect and irrelevant impediments that hinder meaningful participation in worship.

> "These include beliefs such as the inerrancy of the Bible – whether in relation to God’s historical dealings with humanity or the divine demands placed on human belief and behaviour.  
>  
> "The book also addresses problems associated with theories of the atonement and the Trinity."
