# New chair of Lichfield District Council takes up role

The new chair and vice chair of Lichfield District Council have been confirmed at the local authority’s annual meeting.

Cllr Colin Greatorex and Cllr Harry Warburton will take on the civic roles.

Cllr Angela Lax, who proposed the new chair, said Cllr Greatorex would be an “excellent ambassador” for the council.

> “Colin has seen a fair few members carry out the role and represent the district – I’m fairly confident he’s learned from a few different styles about how to be an effective chair.

> “He has a great deal of experience and has held a variety of cabinet portfolios. He has a very good understanding of how the nuts and bolts of council work.

> “I can say with confidence that Colin will treat everyone with courtesy, will act with total honesty and integrity, and be an excellent ambassador for Lichfield District Council.”

Cllr Alan White proposed Cllr Warburton as vice chair after paying tribute to his “tenaciousness and determination”.
