# New Lichfield Ladies Circle chair earns karate black belt

A Lichfield woman is celebrating a double success after becoming a black belt in Shotokan Karate.

Gaynor Webb’s achievement came on the back of her being appointed the new chairperson of [Lichfield Ladies Circle](http://www.lichfieldladiescircle.co.uk/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk).

She has been training with Lichfield Shotokan Karate Club for just over three years and travelled to Rhyl with her husband Julian, who is also a black belt and chair of Lichfield Round Table, to take her black belt 1st Dan grading on one of the [Karate Union of Great Britain](http://www.kugb.org/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) (KUGB) black & brown belt courses.

She said:

> “It’s has been an exciting month for me having been elected Chair for Ladies Circle and now this!”
