# New reserve team management duo appointed at Lichfield City FC

Lichfield City have this week appointed Neil Sierzega and Chris Walton as joint reserve team player/managers

The pair, who have featured for the City first-team this season and are regulars at second-string level, have stepped up to fill the void left by Paul Holt who resigned last month.

First team boss Dean Gilbert said:

> “Neil and Chris are players I know very well and I’m pleased that they have accepted the position. Both have exceptional knowledge of the game and hopefully they can continue the superb work of Paul Holt.

> “Paul’s decision to stand down was a massive blow; not just to the club but to me as well. He has made a massive impact on the team’s form in the Burton League and produced players worthy of a place in the first-team. Paul will definitely come back into management at some stage as he has a lot to offer and I would hope he chooses Lichfield.

> “Neil and Chris have a massive job ahead of them but they are very capable and I know they are relishing the challenge.”

Sierzega and Walton kick-off their managerial careers at Brownsfield Park on Saturday (January 16) as City’s second-string entertain Dart FC (kick-off 2pm).
