Run by Lichfield District Council the sessions are an opportunity to get active, meet new friends and have fun for 14 to 25 year olds that have special educational needs, sensory or physical disabilities.

The Sports Night starts on June 23 and runs every Thursday for six weeks with wheelchair basketball, boccia (a target ball sport), badminton, table tennis and more.

Sarah Sleigh, Lichfield District Council’s Sports Development Officer, said:

> “We’re excited to launch a night that’s aimed at teenagers and young adults with disabilities. The sessions will help to improve skills, co-ordination and fitness, and should be good fun. Friends and family are welcome to come along and join in.
>
> “We’re initially running the night for six weeks, but if it is popular, we’ll extend it to 12 months, so make sure you take advantage of this opportunity.”
