# New swimming lessons for babies and toddlers set to start

Parents are being invited to make a splash with their babies and toddlers at swimming classes in Lichfield.

Swim school [Water Babies](http://www.waterbabies.co.uk/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) has started taking bookings for its March term.

The company has more than 20,000 youngsters in the water each week.

A spokesperson said:

> “If you fancy doing something amazing with your baby, why not take them swimming? Swimming is great for babies’ physical and mental development as well as enhancing awareness and helping eating and sleeping patterns.

> “There’s a water safety aspect too – you can teach them to swim back to the side and hold on if they fall in by the time they’re two. Even before that you can make them confident and relaxed when falling into water, meaning you’re more likely to save them yourself.

> “It’s also a great way for the two of you to bond, and you’ll meet loads of other new parents too.”
