# New swimming pool fitness programme launches in Lichfield

A new fitness programme is hoping to make a splash in Lichfield.

Friary Grange Leisure Centre will be one of only four venues across the country piloting the Swimfit Activate Plus workout sessions.

The fitness regime involves a gym-style programme that takes place in a pool, led by qualified instructors.

Phil Kelly, manager of Friary Grange Leisure Centre, said: “Swimfit Activate Plus is a great way to get fit and tone up with the help of a qualified instructor or by following the session cards.

“We’re really pleased to be one of four leisure centres chosen to pilot the scheme and are encouraging lots of people to give it a try. If it’s really popular, we hope to continue sessions beyond July.”

Swimfit Activate Plus is for adults only. It is available at Friary Grange Leisure Centre on Tuesdays from 7pm to 8pm and on Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm until July 26\. It costs £5 a session. For leisure centre members it costs £4 and £1 for Evolve memberships that include the use of the pool.
