After a good contest between evenly-matched sides it was the hosts who clinched it 35-26 as Burntwood travelled to Nuneaton.

Nuneaton were ahead with a converted try after 10 minutes but a Ben Tranter try and Rory Newall conversion brought the scores level.

Sloppy handling cost Burntwood a converted try to leave them trailing 14-7 at half time but the double act of Tranter and Newall did the trick again to equalise.

Despite Tranter going on to complete a hat trick of tries plus a try for Josh Birch converted by Newall, it was not enough to contain the hosts who ran out eventual winners.
