# Organisers hail success of community clean up event in Lichfield

A COMMUNITY clean up event has been hailed as a success.

The event was supported by Lichfield Litter Legends, Bromford, Lichfield City Council and Lichfield District Council in north Lichfield.

It is the fourth time the event has taken place.

A spokesperson said:

> “It was a great day – and thanks go to all of our volunteers who helped make it such a success.

> “This is the fourth time we have held this event, but the first time we have had to order more skips on the day.

> “The skip at Curburough was filled within 45 minutes of its arrival and the second one was overflowing well before the end of play.

> “In the end, we had eight full skips for the day together with 21 bags of rubbish picked up by our tremendous volunteers.”
