A procession through Lichfield has seen more than 100 hand-made lanterns carried through the city’s streets.

The parade featured creations of all shapes and sizes, including two Daleks, a dragon, a fire engine and smoke alarm, a house, two pumpkins and a giant rocket.

The imaginative lanterns were made at a series of free workshops that took place during half-term.

Colin Cruise, volunteer and North Lichfield Initiative board member, said:

> “The lantern procession is the local event of the year, and I was so proud to see everyone out in force, parading their amazing lanterns. It is a special feeling to be surrounded by your family and friends, and to share in something that you’ve all helped to create.”

Councillor [Helen Fisher](http://openlylocal.com/members/2477-Helen-Fisher?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk), Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, added:

> “Although it was a bit windy on the night, the lantern procession was stunning. It once again shows what can be done when everyone comes together.”
