A Lichfield fundraising group are ‘patting’ themselves on the back after their latest efforts saw more than £2,000 collected.

The winning cow pat is inspected

The annual Cow Pat Draw saw Lichfield Lions raise the money for charities including the South Staffordshire Young Carers.

Daisy the cow did the honours as her effort picked up the £100 prize for a lucky participant.

“The success of the event rests on the generosity of local people, the support of Shenstone Garden Centre and the network of local hostelries that allowed the Lions access to their customers,” a spokesperson said.

“And of course a big thank you goes out to farmer David and of course Daisy!”
