LOCAL people are being urged to open their doors to visitors from Lichfield’s twin towns.

Guests from Limburg an der Lahn in Germany and Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon in France will visit the city for a twinning celebration event later this year.

Lichfield City Council is on the lookout for local residents who can host visitors during their stay between 2nd and 5th October.

During their trip guests will enjoy programme of civic, cultural and community events organised by the council.

A spokesperson said:

> “The twinning event offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to Lichfield’s long-standing international partnerships.
>
> “It provides a meaningful cultural exchange, the chance to share experiences and an opportunity to help strengthen ties between our communities.
>
> “To support this, we’re seeking local residents who can host a visitor or a couple and help us give our guests a warm Lichfield welcome.”

Hosts will need to provide bed and breakfast in a comfortable spare room in a property they own.

> “Participation will make a meaningful contribution to the success of the twinning celebration.
>
> “The council is grateful for the community’s continued support and looks forward to showcasing Lichfield’s hospitality to our European partners and creating lasting memories.”
