# Plan for former Chasetown bank building to be converted into dance studio

Plans have been drawn up to convert a betting office in Burntwood into a dance studio.

The Lake School of Dance & Theatre Arts wants to make the changes to the store at 47-49 High Street, Chasetown.

Before being used as a betting shop, the site was home to a branch of The Midland Bank.

The new studio would feature two dance areas to allow youngsters to practice their routines.

In an application to Lichfield District Council, Beverley-Jane Lake said: “My school caters for children from toddler and pre-school age group, through  
to professional level.

“Pupils are entered for International Dance Teachers Association grades and medal tests and enjoy the opportunity to perform in our productions in a professional theatre.”

She also said that it was hoped the venue could also be rented out to other community groups.
