# Plans submitted for development of 230 new homes on land in Fradley

FORMAL plans have been submitted for a new development of 230 new homes in Fradley.

Bloor Homes hopes to build on land to the north of Fradley Lane.

The number of homes proposed for the site has been reduced by 50 following a consultation at the end of last year. It means more than 50% of the plot will remain as open space.

Access to the development would be via a new roundabout on Fradley Lane – which will also see a narrow stretch of the road widened as part of a package of highways improvements.

Emma Foster, senior planning manager at Bloor Homes, said:

> “We are delighted to have submitted these outline plans for a high-quality, landscape-led development in Fradley, alongside our ongoing promotion of the site through the Lichfield Local Plan.

> “With central government proposing significant increases in local housing targets, bringing forward outline plans now will ensure that Lichfield District Council is able to contribute to meeting these targets early in the Local Plan period, on a site that they have identified as being suitable for this purpose.

> “We are grateful for all the feedback received during consultation. In response to feedback received during the pre-application process and ongoing site technical analysis, we have reduced our proposed development by at least 50 homes.

> “We have had a range of suggestions for potential uses for a proposed community building on the site and will continue to explore this through the outline planning process.

> “Local representatives have also made us aware of existing issues with surface water drainage affecting properties in Church Lane. Our drainage consultants are discussing this with Severn Trent Water to explore the potential for our drainage scheme to contribute to resolving these existing local issues.”

Bloor Homes’ project team for Fradley is holding an information afternoon for local residents to drop-in and view the submitted plans, as well as asking any questions. It will take place at Fradley Village Hall from 2pm to 6pm on 5th February.

> “Local people have raised some concerns about local services and infrastructure with us – now that our outline application has been submitted, statutory consultation will be undertaken by Lichfield District Council with a range of bodies such as highways authorities, education authorities, utilities and the local NHS Integrated Care Board.

> “This will determine the financial contributions that we will be required to make to support services such as local healthcare and schools, as well as any improvements to the highway network. This will ensure our development can make a positive contribution to local services for both existing and new residents.””
