# Police appeal after woman is assaulted by a group of men in Lichfield

Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted by a group of men in Lichfield.

The incident happened near to the park area on Leyfields between 9.15pm and 9.30pm on January 31.

The woman was confronted by a small group of men before being assaulted.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said:

> “Thankfully, the female did not sustain serious injuries, and this appears to be an isolated incident. Officers however would encourage any resident, or anyone else that saw this incident to contact the CID at Burton Police Station on 0300 123 44 55\. Alternatively, if any person wishes to provide information anonymously, they can do so by telephoning Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The Staffordshire Police incident number is 820 of 31 January.
