The raid happened at around 9.20pm on June 18 at a Betfred shop in Newport.

Gwent Police say witnesses described him as having a Midlands accent “but not Birmingham”.

He entered the shop with a silver handgun and demanded cash from the till.

Anyone with information can call 101 quoting incident number 612 18/06/16, mentioning that they are responding to a Gwent Police appeal. Alternatively, people can contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
