POLICE have closed the A38 in Lichfield after a crash.

The road is shut in both directions after the incident at 5am this morning (7th March).

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said:

> “We are responding to a serious collision on the A38 and have had to close the road in both directions between the A5148 and A5 junctions.

> “Please avoid the area where possible to reduce traffic disruption.”
