# Police thank motorists who helped rescue escaped horse

PEOPLE have been thanked for helping to rescue a horse on the loose.

The incident happened on 9th January when the animal, called Alice, managed to get onto local roads.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said:

> “Alice was trying to ‘stirrup’ trouble by causing traffic chaos.

> “But officers were assisted by thoughtful motorists who were able to help rein her in and get her back to safety.

> “A big thanks to everyone who stopped and helped.”
