The Year 5 students have been taking part in a ‘transition project’ at Nether Stowe School, which aims to make the transition to secondary school easier.

The event saw them take lessons in science, maths, ICT, art, food and design technology, and PE.

They then shared their learning with an audience of parents and teachers, with some students who had been visited by the music department at Nether Stowe showcasing their singing, percussion skills and even playing the ukulele.

“The performances were absolutely amazing,” said Nether Stowe Assistant Headteacher, Steve Peace. “These students have so much potential and it was such a pleasure to be able to facilitate their learning at Nether Stowe.

“We started this project three years ago with a single sporting event. This year we’ve involved even more students, introducing new lessons and learning opportunities.

“All the school children benefit. The primary pupils get a taste of ‘big’ school while our students have an opportunity to teach the younger students through the sports and language leaders’ courses.”

In September students can visit Nether Stowe again to participate in a sporting challenge. Parents can book a visit anytime by calling the school 01543 263446 or attending an open evening on October 3\. See [www.netherstowe.com](http://www.netherstowe.com/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) for more details.
