Pupils from St Michael’s Primary School took part in a quiz organised by the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust’s engineering director Peter Buck and the head of Year 6, Rosemary Moseley, on a visit to the Tamworth Road site.

The visit was part of a projet the students are working on about canals and the work being carried out to restore the route through Lichfield.

Trust representative Hilary Smith said: “It would be nice to think that the visit might have ignited a spark of interest in a few of the children and that they may think of the canal in Lichfield as their canal.”
