Young readers from a local school were invited to be among the first visitors to a new bookshop in Lichfield.

The students from Henry Chadwick Primary School in Hill Ridware were invited to take a look around the new Market Street branch of Waterstones as it welcomed customers for the first time today (20th May).

A spokesperson for the school said:.

> “They perused a fantastic selection of children’s books before choosing some to update their classroom libraries.

> “The children enjoyed sharing their love of books with the friendly, knowledgable and enthusiastic staff.

> “The visit has certainly instigated lots of book talk in and around school and the children can’t wait to return.

> “It’s wonderful that parents and carers now have this brilliant bookshop in the town centre, to visit, to share the array of books on offer and to instil a love of books.”
