PEOPLE are being asked for their views on six proposed new “mini nature reserves”.

Lichfield District Council’s is hoping to create the areas to support wildlife and boost biodiversity.

If the plans are approved, the reserves would include wildflower areas, native planting, habitat features and improved natural corridors for local species.

Proposed locations include small areas at:

- Land off Eastern Avenue (opposite Stychbrook Park)
- Land off Coulter Lane
- Darnford Park
- Saddlers Park
- Shortbutts Park
- York Close Woodland

Cllr Janice Silvester-Hall, cabinet member for visitor economy, ecology and climate change, said:

> “These proposed mini nature reserves would create richer habitats, improve biodiversity and give communities more chances to connect with the natural environment.
>
> “We are appealing for residents’ views on the initiative and also for their feedback on the suggested areas.”

People can find out more about the proposals [online](https://www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/minireserves?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) and send their views via email to [governance-admin@lichfielddc.gov.uk](mailto:governance-admin@lichfielddc.gov.uk) by 5pm on 9th January.
