RETROSPECTIVE planning permission is being sought for the conversion of a shop and a residential flat in Lichfield into a chiropractic surgery.

The application has been submitted for 29 Sandford Street.

A planning statement said:

> "The applicant bought this property two years ago. It had been empty for ten years previously.

> "The proposed business entrance will be approached from the side and the car park to allow a reasonable treatment room on the ground floor level for elderly and less mobile visitors. The front door recess has been removed and a straight screen installed to maximise the space in the front room.

> "Further treatment rooms are placed within the property – one at ground level and three on the first floor."
