# Search begins for new director of the Lichfield Festival

The search is on to find a new director for the Lichfield Festival.

A [job advert](http://jobs.guardian.co.uk/job/896731/festival-director?RSSSearch=50015154&grse=grse%5F1&email=rss&ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) has been published urging potential candidates to throw their hat into the ring for the job vacated by Richard Hawley.

He [announced](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/lichfieldfestivallogo.jpg) he was leaving the post after being awarded a fellowship as part of the [Clore Leadership Programme](http://www.cloreleadership.org/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk).

The part-time position has been advertised with a £32,500 pro rata salary.

The advert reads:

> “In the broadest terms the Festival Director is both the Artistic Director and the General Manager of the Festival. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in programming, music and arts management, the vision to guide and develop the Festival’s future direction in challenging times and the ability to lead and inspire a dedicated administrative team and many volunteers.”

The closing date for applications is August 24.
