# Skipper calls on Lichfield RUFC to maintain their high standards

Lichfield RUFC’s recent run of good form continued against Willenhall, but skipper Dave Bassett has called on his team to keep up the good work.

Despite playing an opposition who were without a win, Lichfield were given a tough test before coming out on [the right side of a 43-15 scoreline](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2009/10/20/lichfield-rufc-43-willenhall-rfc-15/).

Silhillians are next up for Lichfield in the National Cup and although the city side could make changes for the game, Bassett is calling on his team-mates to maintain their high standards. He said:

> “Willenhall was a hard fought game against tough opposition and while we are pleased with the result, they playersare also aware that they will need to reduce the error count and be more clinical in their game as the season progresses.

> “The continued success of the seconds and the hopeful return from injury of several players means competition for places is severe but we are all aware that a big squad is vital if we are to compete for honours this season.”
