# Speed check to target Walsall Road drivers

A speed check is being set up on the Walsall Road in Lichfield after complaints about speeding drivers.

Lichfield District Council leader David Smith confirmed the measure on his [blog](http://www.readmyday.co.uk/davidsmith/archive/2009/03/31/walsall-road-speeding.htm?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk).

On his official site, he wrote:

> “County Highways are installing a speed check to confirm the average speed. Depending on the results we will have some data to consider what action needs to be taken.”
