THE sponsor of a new exhibition depicting images from World War Two says he is delighted to help bring a “moving retelling of history” to Lichfield Cathedral.

The Longest Yarn 2 runs until 31st May and features scenes covering the period from 1939 to VE Day in 1945, all knitted by more than 200 volunteers.

The exhibition also includes The Gang – eight life-size figures representing the services that helped Britain in its hour of need, from a Land Girl to a Spitfire pilot.

Lichfield soft furnishings business [Interior Choice](http://www.interiorchoice.net/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) has agreed to sponsor the event. Managing director Garin Offer said:

> “I’m delighted to sponsor the event. The volunteers’ craft and attention to detail is incredible.

> “It’s the first of two events we’ll sponsor this year as we are also supporting the Christmas Tree Festival later this year.”
