# Sponsorship helps fund free family session at local forest school

A LOCAL forest school is offering a free session for families thanks to sponsorship from a housebuilder.

Barratt Homes, which is currently building at the Curborough Fields development, has donated £500 to Little Sprouts Forest School. 

The money will help fund a new mud kitchen and sponsor the free session from 10am to 11.30am on 12th July at Lichfield Cathedral School's site in Longdon. 

Chris Gordon, director at Little Sprouts Forest School, said: 

> "Little Sprouts Forest School was founded by a team of experienced teachers, forest school leaders and childcare practitioners who share a passion for outdoor learning.

> "Drawing on backgrounds in education and early years development, the team created Little Sprouts to provide child-led outdoor experiences where children can explore, learn, build confidence and develop a lifelong connection with nature.

> "The school's mission is to nurture happy, capable children through hands-on experiences and woodland adventures."

Forest Schools give children experience in safe risk-taking through activities such as tool use, fire lighting and outdoor cooking, whilst connecting with nature and gaining respect for the environment.

Adrian Evans, managing director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, said:
