# Staffordshire Police initiative clocks up a year of service

A Staffordshire Police initiative that publishes photos of criminals online has reached its first anniversary.

In the past 12 months 254 offenders have had their details published on the Behind Bars section of the force’s website.

The initiative promotes the outcomes of certain cases in which offenders aged 18 and over are sentenced at Stafford or Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court to at least six months in prison or a Young Offenders Institution.

To be included the offence must have caused particular harm to a Staffordshire neighbourhood, community or group of people.

Superintendent Adrian Bloor, head of Justice Services for Staffordshire Police, said: “Behind Bars allows people to see the photos and offence details of people who have been sent to prison, as well as where they are from and where they committed their crimes.

“We’re confident that it reassures people that the criminal justice services in Staffordshire are working hard, and dealing with those who commit crimes in our communities.”
