Striker Kyle Perry is using his memories of Chasetown FC’s historic FA Cup run to inspire his new team-mates.

Perry left the Scholars Ground after catching the eye of Port Vale – one of the clubs sent tumbling out of the competition by Charlie Blakemore’s side during the 2007-08 competition.

But after a rollercoaster spell with the Valiants, the target man has now moved to Mansfield, who entertain Altrincham in the FA Cup tomorrow (October 24).

And Perry is busy keeping his team-mates busy with tales of his rapid rise through the footballing ranks – a journey that began in Chasetown’s FA Cup run.

> “I think I have got some of the lads buzzing with my story of what happened at Chasetown and it is something that everyone in the dressing room is looking forward to.
